Niall Collins became the first member of the Bisham Abbey Junior Section to win an open Tournament when he picked up The Caversham 14u singles title last friday.
After surprising 2nd seed Jack Howarth (Northants) in the first round Niall went on to win 3 further matches between the showers to reach the final against Tom Murrell (Oxfordshire). Murrell was the favourite with a better rating than the left handed Collins. However the Bisham youngster played a sound defensive game frustrating his more stylish opponent whose errors accumulated as the match wore on - Niall Collins in the end winning 6/2 6/4.
Niall is coached by Win Tennis's Roberto Rubio who knows about left-handers having helped Rafa Nadal develop his career!!
